This was on the morning of our hike out of Lyell Canyon. I'll be honest. Without clouds and super clear lakes surrounding us in this location, I wasn't very motivated to wake up for sunrise. My buddy got up his usual 5:30am and tried to wake me up and I just laid there for another half hour contempleting if i should get up or not. As soon as I got up and caught a glimpse of the fog hovering over the meadows, I wasted no time and grabbed my camera gear and ran through the trees in my sleepwear, forgetting about the cold, wet meadows to catch the last moments of the morning fog. The fog hovered a foot or two above the ground and barely went over my head. You could see what seemed like a paper-thin layer of fog if you placed your head at the right height to see just moments later before it completely disappeared.
