Last weekend I was in Vancouver, Canada and made it a point to not bring my DSLR but instead use my Point and Shoot (Canon S95). We walked all over town from the moment we woke up til bedtime. I was not going to carry my dslr kit with me ( you know, full-frame body, 2-3 lenses, flash, tripod). My little S95 is definitely up for the wallpaper challenge! This one was taken from the Vancouver Aquarium which can be found in Stanley Park. I guess you could say it's the equivalent of Central Park in NYC, and Golden Gate Park in SF. The aquarium has a great collection of exhibitions of live and habitats that can be found around Canadian waters. They have seals, sea otters, starfish, and even a huge tank with beluga whales! The cute, colorful things you see floating on the wallpaper are Moon Jellyfish. The aquarium was having a "babies" exhibition and this jellyfish wasn't an exception. The small tank had dozens of full-sized jellyfish but upon closer inpsection you'd notice smaller bits were also pulsing their way through the water. The small ones were nearly impossible to capture on camera but here you can see the range of sizes you can see these beautiful creatures.
I'm running out of excuses for being late with these wallpapers -- Photography isn't my money-maker. It's a passion and I'm only able to photograph, edit, and update my webpage on my free time. But I truly appreciate folks for coming by and checking out my work :)
